Job Responsibilities:
The Fabric Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing high-quality fabrics that align with the company’s design vision, cost objectives, and sustainability standards. This role involves close collaboration with design teams, supplier management, and continuous market research to ensure efficient and high-performing sourcing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Identification & Evaluation
Identify, assess, and onboard potential fabric suppliers while ensuring compliance with the company’s quality, sustainability, and ethical standards. - Cost Negotiation & Procurement
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure the most cost-effective sourcing solutions without compromising on quality. - Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with design and product development teams to understand fabric requirements and translate creative concepts into practical sourcing strategies. - Market Research & Trend Analysis
Conduct ongoing market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging fabric technologies and innovations. - Supplier Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply, effective communication, and continuous improvement. - Quality Assurance & Compliance
Monitor fabric quality through regular testing and inspection processes to ensure adherence to company specifications and industry standards. - Data Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sourcing activities, including supplier performance metrics, pricing agreements, and inventory tracking.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent understanding of textile fabrics and sourcing processes
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in textiles (preferred)
- Proficiency in data tracking and reporting tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Relevant experience in fabric sourcing, procurement, or textile merchandising (preferred)
